Become a Judge

The expertise that our judges bring to the GSVC is a large part of what makes this competition a thought-leader in the social enterprise space.

Every year professionals give of their time to review the business plans, provide feedback and where appropriate, attend live judging and presentation sessions.

Each round is slightly different in terms of the judges recruited and the commitment required.

Executive Summary Round:

  • 30 – 40 professional judges are recruited
  • Judges at this level typically have 5 – 10 years of experience in the field
  • Judges are required to read and review approximately 3 – 5 executive summaries and to provide written feedback via an online survey

Regional Finals Round:

  • 15 – 20 professional judges are recruited including Social Impact Assessment experts
  • Judges at this level typically have more than 10 years of experience in the field
  • Judges are required to read and review approximately 3 – 5 business plans and to provide written feedback via an online survey.
  • In addition, judges are asked to attend a half day live judging session to be held at a local Partner School.

Global Finals Round:

  • 8 – 10 professional judges are recruited
  • Judges at this level typically have in excess of 15 years experience and/or are recognized by their peers as thought-leaders in the social enterprise space
  • Judges are required to read approximately 10 business plans and to provide written feedback via an online survey.
  • In addition judges are asked to attend a full day live presentation and judging session. Judges are also invited to attend the awards ceremony and Symposium event.
